What is CU Soon and how does it work?
CU Soon is a social app that helps you connect with people you know in person. Whenever friends, family or colleagues (called “Buddies”) will be at one of your future locations, the app can notify you in advance so can plan to “Meetup” there. Simply enter your future destination and timeline, whether it’s a concert, meeting, layover, or trip to the coffee shop – and the app will automatically notify you if any of your Buddies will also be in the area.
How do I get started?
Download the app, and when you first open it tap on “Sign Up” at the bottom and fill in your profile page. Then, you can start sending and accepting Buddy Invites to/from people you know to build your Buddy List. Finally, whenever you plan to go someplace, you can save that destination to the app beforehand and the app will notify you if any of your Buddies will also be in that area during your trip.
Is CU Soon a social media platform?
No. CU Soon is not a social media platform. It doesn’t display your location publicly, share posts or messages with anyone, and doesn’t require social engagement. It’s a private, secure tool designed to allow people to take advantage of meetup opportunities that would have been missed otherwise.
How does the app work?
The app monitors your planned destinations and events and compares them with those of your “Buddies.” If the app determines that you and a Buddy will be at the same location around the same time, it notifies you in advance so you can meet up with that person if you wish to.
Who can I become Buddies with on CU Soon?
You can become Buddies with anyone who also has the app. Just send them a connection request within the CU Soon app. Once accepted, your entered destinations will be constantly monitored to identify overlaps.
How do I provide my future destinations to the app?
There are two ways:
– You can use the app’s map interface to drop a pin at your destination and enter the details of when you will be there.
– You can search your destination by name or address using your maps search window.
Why do I have to provide my phone number to the app?
When the app discovers that one of your Buddies will be at a future destination, it sends your phone number a text notification of the potential Meetup opportunity.
Why do I have to provide my email address to the app?
To protect your privacy, you will create a unique username and password when you set up your profile in the app. Your email address will be used if you ever need to reset your password.
Can I invite anyone I want to my Buddy List?
Yes, you can invite anyone who has installed the C.U. Soon app on their phone and set up their profile. Once they accept your invitation, you will be connected as buddies and added to each other’s Buddy Lists.
How do I add people I know to my Buddy List?
In the app, you can search for other people by their names, mobile phone numbers, or email addresses. If they have the C. U. Soon app, you’ll see their profile and can send them an invitation. If they don’t have C. U. Soon, the app allows you to send them a link to our website where they can learn about the app, download it and set up their profile. Then, you will be able to add them as a Buddy.
What kind of locations can I enter?
You can add any kind of location: cities, venues, events locations, airports, campuses, resorts, or even theme parks. Basically, you can enter any location you can identify on you mobile phone’s map. The app works for vacation, conference, layover, everyday commute, or special occasion locations.
How far in advance will I be notified of a meetup opportunity.
Notifications are sent as soon as a match is found in your and your Buddy’s schedule – whether that’s weeks or months in advance, or a few hours or minutes before. This gives you time to plan accordingly.
What platforms is CU Soon available on?
CU Soon is available on both iOS and Android platforms. The app is currently being rolled out with a fully rebranded experience for both.
How secure is my data on CU Soon?
Your privacy and data security are a top priority. CU Soon does not share your personal information or location publicly. All data is securely handled and only used for its intended purposes within the app – to find destination overlaps with your approved Buddies.
